Hey book & beer lovers, Book Swap Sundays are back starting January 4th! How it works: Bring in a finished book and swap for something new-to-you! Don’t have a book to bring in? That’s fine, just leave a $5 cash donation to Yakima Valley Libraries and snag a book from the stash. Every Sunday until February 22nd from 12pm – 6pm!

Annual Black History Luncheon
Yakima Valley College’s Diversity Series, in partnership with Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of Washington, will host a Black History Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Kaminski Conference Center on YVC’s Yakima Campus (1704 W. Nob Hill Blvd., Building 38).
The event features speakers from YVC, OIC and local community leaders, along with resource tables and historical artifacts celebrating key moments in Black history. Attendees will also experience The True Black History Museum, a national traveling exhibit showcasing more than 1,000 artifacts dating from the late 1700s to the present.
The luncheon concludes with a keynote address by Fred Saffold, a nationally recognized presenter on Black history and racial justice and director of the True Black History Museum.
Doors open: 11:30 a.m.
Program begins: 12 p.m.

Cold for a Cause 5k!
Lace up, bundle up, and run with purpose at the Cold for a Cause 5K Saturday, February 28th at 9am! Each winter, many in our community face the harsh reality of sleeping in the cold. This fun and family-friendly race invites runners and walkers alike to brave the chill and take a stand for warmth, hope, and change. Every step you take helps support the life-changing programs of Yakima Union Gospel Mission, providing shelter, meals, medical care, and pathways to stability for individuals experiencing homelessness. Whether you’re racing for your best time or strolling with friends in layers and scarves, your participation brings warmth where it’s needed most. Together, we can make sure no one has to face the cold alone. Join us to run, give, and make a difference!

Winter Carnival at White Pass Ski Area 2/28-3/1
The amazing volunteer crew constructs a massive snow castle. The castle is open to the public from Saturday 10am – 5pm & Sunday 10am – 3pm. The castle opens for tubing at 10am both Saturday and Sunday. The Kids’ Obstacle Course Race will take place at 11am on Saturday and Sunday. Night skiing from 2pm until 8pm and is included with a day ticket or season pass. Watch for the Torchlight Parade and the Fireworks beginning at 7pm Saturday evening! Music – family-friendly dance party! Sno-Go Demos all weekend! Below is the schedule of events…
